In the late 1980’s, Guardsmark began serving a large pharmaceutical corporation in the South, replacing a previous security provider with whom the client was dissatisfied.
The corporation develops and produces cutting-edge drugs; a significant catalyst for its transition to Guardsmark was the discovery of major proprietary espionageemployees selling valuable trade secrets.
During an investigation, one lead scientista member of the research team for a blockbuster drug—was found to be passing formulaic details to a competitor.
As a result, this individual was terminated and escorted off the site. The event was detailed in Guardsmark’s incident logs, and the man’s name was added to a special alert distributed to the security team.
That was in 1989.
