New York, New York, January 30, 2009 - Demonstrating beyond any doubt the Guardsmark commitment to the career development of its employees, the company has announced that a review of its employment records reveals that nearly 40 percent of its salaried branch employees were promoted from hourly positions within the company. A significant number of those promoted have pursued their college education with help from the Guardsmark tuition reimbursement program.
Since the company’s founding in 1963, employee career growth and personal development have been Guardsmark core values. “Helping someone grow is the best thing we can do for our fellow person,” said Guardsmark President Ira A. Lipman. “The company could not be more proud of those employees who worked to get their degree, with or without our help, and have moved forward in the company for a better career and life.
“We are proud that we recognize potential in our people and have the confidence to bring them up through the ranks,” he continued. “By selecting hourly employees and saying, ‘maybe you can really develop,’ and then paying for their college education and giving them a position within the company, we are taking three steps that are a special investment toward the development of people.”
