NEW YORK, February 1 /PRNewswire/ -Guardsmark, LLC, one of the
world's largest security services firms, today announced record
revenues for calendar year 2006.
Guardsmark revenues for the 2006 calendar year were $548,734,336, an
increase of 7.4 percent, or $37,896,099 over 2005 revenues of
$510,838,237. For the past 28 years, after being a public company
from 1970 to 1979, Guardsmark has enjoyed an impressive pattern of
compounded double-digit growth of 11 percent without a single merger
or acquisition.
Since its establishment in 1963 by Founder and Chairman Ira A.
Lipman, privately owned Guardsmark has been known for its visionary
leadership, innovation and uncompromising standards, which have
yielded superior service and value for its customer base. The
Guardsmark brand is synonymous with excellence. Referred to as the
"Guardsmark Difference," the company's culture of doing things right
results in precision planning for each security mission and
relentless efforts to exceed client expectations at every level. The
company crest displays Guardsmark's motto "Truth, Courage, Judgement"
symbolizing the organization's values. Guardsmark has achieved ISO
9001:2000 registration, the global gold standard for quality
management, for all of its offices. It is the only large
internationally-based security services firm to have earned
registration of its quality management system for 100 percent of its
branches and for both service and design.
In addition to record revenues, 2006 was a record-setting year for
employment. In 2006 Guardsmark employed 19,254 team members, the
highest number in the history of the company. Among full-time
employees, Guardsmark achieved a record low turnover rate of 34.6
percent for the year. Extending an 18-year trend of declining
turnover, this impressive retention rate is much better than the
industry standard and measurably better than rates published by other
security companies. Factors contributing to this achievement include
superior wages and benefits for Guardsmark employees plus numerous
opportunities for career advancement, learning and recognition.
Guardsmark is the largest employer of former FBI agents in the world.
Many who were leaders in the FBI are now among the company's
managers, including some of America's top experts in
counterterrorism, executive protection, workplace violence and
organized crime. In addition, the company actively recruits former
members of the U.S. Secret Service and CIA and men and women from all
branches of the U.S. military into its management team.
Guardsmark believes that business and industry must coordinate their
efforts with the government at all levels to prepare for, and respond
to, threats such as terrorism, natural disasters and global
pandemics. The company provides innovative and value-added security
services such as business continuity planning and risk assessment to
many Fortune 1000 companies and enjoys what is believed to be the
highest customer-retention rate in the industry, achieved by
consistently focusing on client service.
As part of its ongoing commitment to exceeding client expectations,
Guardsmark offers value-added services that go beyond the normal
duties typically associated with physical security. A key element is
the assortment of services directly related to improving safety.
Whether identifying potential fire hazards or designing emergency
evacuation routes, Guardsmark security professionals can help provide
analyses of the possible threats to safety at a client facility. The
security officers play a pivotal role in reducing risks due to their
extensive knowledge of facility layout, personnel on site, and the
ongoing education they receive about the potential areas of
vulnerability to their clients. The officers' constant and
authoritative presence helps to ensure that the necessary safety
precautions are observed. Guardsmark's comprehensive approach to
safety and risk management is reflected in its enviable experience
modification factor (EMF) for worker's compensation, which has
averaged .55 for the past 20 years and is believed to be the lowest
in the security industry. By supporting the clients' risk management
programs, Guardsmark assists in the protection of clients' employees,
customers and facilities from potentially devastating human and
financial loss.
Guardsmark has become one of the most recognized names in private
security with more than 155 offices throughout the United States,
Canada, Puerto Rico, United Kingdom, France and Singapore. For more
